Mark introduced us to his parents Roger and Shona some years ago. We could catch up with this lovely couple a few times. Once we spontaneously decided to go for a quite intensive walk up Mount Bartle Frere - Queensland's highest peak. We were amazed how strong Roger was tramping through challenging terrain and how much he enjoyed it. Even more so because he was considerably older then we. It really demanded a repetition. Unfortunately, that did not happen. However, the memories are still there. We are with you, dear Shona and Mark, Walter Schenk and Ingrid Urban

I would have loved to meet this man! Thank goodness his ever so appealing traits live on in his son. My sincerest condolence to the family and all who had the good fortune to have known this wonderful gentleman. With love Barry (brother of Keith, Stephanie's father)

Roger was a year ahead of me at school. Head Monitor and a very fair minded and able leader at school. Renewed contact since I have been in Auckland since 2003 through old boys association. He was still a fair minded and capable man. Just a nice guy. Enjoyed our contact very much and offer my sincere condolences to his family.
