DOYLE, Douglas Murray - Reg No 446371 Pvte 22 Batt 2nd NZEF Italy. On 26 December 2022 Murray died peacefully at Waiararapa Hospital, in his 100th year. Dearly loved husband of the late June. Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Dianne (dec) and Wayne Thurston, Julianne and Willy Buick, Peter and Jan. Much loved grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather of his grandchilden, great grandchilden and great grandchild. Messages to the family may be sent to Doyle family C/- P O Box 2055 Masterton. Special thanks to the staff of Kandahar for their care. A Celebration of Murray’s life will be held at Rosewood, 415 Queen Street Masterton on Friday 30th December at 1:00pm followed by private cremation. Thank you for having a live stream of Uncle Murray's funeral. I learned a lot more about "Douglas" at the funeral (virtually) today, and I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have known him and Aunty June and been part of their extended family. The photo I have attached (for those who don't instantly recognise it!) was taken at Diane and Wayne's wedding, where I was a flower girl. I am with Mum and Dad - Clare and Eric Lilly. I still have this dress and the pretty necklace Diane gave me. My heart felt condolences to Uncle Murray's family, and to others who were close to him. Kathrine Laurence (nee Lilly)
