Tributes

Cheveyo was a bright light from when he was a baby. He had a fantastic smile and joyful attitude. I remember him sitting with all the other Walking Talking babies just loving being involved and chatting away to them all. Thank you, Julie, for sharing your beautiful boy with us all. Hugest hugs to the whole family.

Cheveyo, you are a very special soul. Bright, joyful, genuine, uninhibited, warm. When I think of you I see a smile that brings light to my heart. You will be deeply missed. Rest peacefully x

Dear whānau of Cheveyo, I haven't seen you all in years, but remember Cheveyo from kindy days when my son Rio was there. I'm so devastated and heartbroken to hear this news! I can't even begin to imagine how you feel. Rio and I are sending you all so much love at this time, and wishing your beautiful man a peaceful journey home, held in the arms of angels.

Waimarie (Yolande) and Rio

The days I spent with you will always be with me. The hours we spent in English class were the best, your sense of humor and cheeky character kept me on my toes as I tryed to keep you out of trouble. The excitement you displayed when you achieved was worth every minute of my time. I am so privileged to have had the opportunity of spending time with you. Such a special real old sole you will be sadly missed by all whose hearts you touched. Thinking of you Julie and all your family. 😢

Cheveyo, my form class buddy, I will never forget our time together, sitting in form class with our sneaky snacks and you would always have a story to share. I am so happy I had the chance to have seen you grow, make friends in our class, and teach the others how to be strong, humble, kind and caring just like you. You were the brightest star buddy, rest easy my friend x

Cheveyo you were a joy to teach. Your laughter will echo forever in our hearts,as will your wonderful sense of humour. Your compassion for others particularly your friends was a light to others making you a role model for many. You were brave in all the new adventures we gave you, never failing to meet any challenge. “Your life was a blessing your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure”

Thank you Cheveyo for all the fun, love and laughter you shared with us at OTC over the years! I love how you understood and rolled with my crazy sense of humour and I have so many amazing memories of you and your equally as cheeky humour… playing UNO with you was so much fun, especially when you won a game, stood up, kissed each of your biceps and then started jumping on the mini tramp and dancing around the room! I love how you always tried your very best and would overcome many challenges, such as bravely crossing a gushing cold-water river! I love your enthusiasm for hospitality classes and how you loved talking about food, family and your pets! You truly brought a light into this world that will continue to shine whenever we think about those magical moments. Thank you Cheveyo for being a part of my world, for keeping in touch and for crossing paths with me. Rest in peace, love and light young man. Love from Ms Smythe xxxx
