Aunty (6th Chim) and Mei, The families in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, of the Late Koo Keth Piaw and Late Lim Soh Guat, share the grief of Raymond’s passing, with your family. Yuet Wah, as my Father would call him, was well respected by both our late parents, and it follows that all of us siblings were fond of him. He was somewhat quiet but we all knew we could approach him casually and candidly. Sometimes a bit stubborn and rigid in views but fairness, honesty and compassion were his moral compass. An Uncle we are are proud to have. Our condolences to you and we grief with you. My 6th Uncle, Raymond Koh - Lak Chik as I addressed him, dedicated the last 40 over years of his life to champion the cause of Teluk Piah Estate, for the benefit and betterment of all its partners. It was my hope and wish for him that he enjoy the fruit of his labour but unfortunately time and health surpassed him. Over years, whenever I was in KL, when we met, he would update me the news, happenings, issues, his goals, etc regarding Teluk Piah Estate. My non residency in KL continually frustrated his hope of someone taking over his commitment. Over the last 5 years, I managed to spend some time with him, discussing legal matters concerning Teluk Piah Estate and even attending meetings at Kuala Selangor. In the last few months, I spoke at length with him on several occasions on video calls, seeking his counsel and opinion. I told him I will make plans to visit him in NZ in early 2023 which he was happy and excited about. Sadly and regretfully, the call in November 2022 was my last call to him. I shall miss him. His demise will be a loss to Teluk Piah Estate. Hopefully, his dream for Teluk Piah Estate will be fulfilled in this generation. Respectfully, Richard Koo Nephew 17 January 2023
I am so sad to hear that Uncle Raymond has left us. Just a few days ago, his sister in law, my aunt as well, here in Malaysia passed away too. I always looked forward to Uncle Raymond's call when he comes back to visit. I will miss him greatly. I always enjoyed our little chats.
