Tributes

We have so many fond memories of trips down to Fielding to visit Grandad Ron and Nana Del over the summer holidays such as onion bag fishing at Tangimoana Beach. It was always very special to spend time with you both and spend time at the Denbigh St house. We would always share many laughs and it was always such great fun. You will be missed, and we are thankful for all the times that we shared together. We take comfort that you lived such a great life and were such a great father, grandfather and friend. All our love to Nana Del and the rest of the family. Oliver and Claudia XX

Grandad Ron, you always made it such fun when I came to visit. Flying kites and fish and chips at Foxton Beach. The spa pool at Denbigh Street. Dancing on your feet in the kitchen. Visiting the aquarium in Napier. Just some of my favourite memories that I will never forget.

Grandad Ron, you were wise and kind and fun. I remember on my last visit you gave me the job of clearing out the spiders and cobwebs on the deck...I much preferred playing in your garden. I will miss you.

Ron, the memory that stands out the strongest for me, is the day that I called you for the first time to ask you for Kaz's hand in marriage. You had never spoken to me before and you were so gracious and supportive of my declaration of love for Kaz and you responded with a firm YES. It meant so much to me. You treated me as family from that day onwards for which I will forever be grateful. May you Rest In Peace, much love Chris
