The man, the legend himself, Koro Julian Tunui has taken his rest, and now slumbers in eternal glory after many years of suffering with illness. A pivotal figure of the community has departed, leaving his beloved Poroporo and Ngati Pukeko whanui bereft and in heartfelt sorrow. He was 78 years oldBeloved soulmate of Donna Tunui (nee Asher-Walker)Loving father to his three sons, Mark, Leonard, Gavin and koro to his many mokopuna and tuarua.The last son of the late Taame and the late Moana Tunui (nee Waretini)Mokopuna of Puroku and Maria Tunui (Ngati Pukeko, Te Arawa) and also of Te Waretini Mutukuri and Ataraiti Waretini (nee Brady) (Ngati Wahiao/Tuhourangi) Beloved uncle, cousin, koro and friend to many Haere atu ra e koro. Ko mātau a tōna wā ka whai atu i a koe. NGA WHAKANEKENEKE Koro Julian will stay at home for one night with the whanau, and arrive to RANGATAUA MARAE on Saturday at 10am. His funeral service is scheduled for Monday 16th of January 2022 at 11am, followed by burial at Hillcrest Cemetery
