I will always remember the two of us walking around The Square in Christchurch, me in Army uniform and he in his West blazer convinced that every young woman would be breaking their necks to meet us. In the end we could only console ourselves that they surely did not know what they were missing. Such is youth, RIP Rex and all my kindest Regards to all those dear to him. Love Jim

Great service and tributes for Rex. Our sympathies to you all and best wishes to the family. I didn’t have a lot to do with Rex, but another cousin, Judith, and I represented the southern family at his wedding as our beloved grandfather, Pop, passed away at that time. It was a weekend of very mixed emotions for us then, teenagers. Another memory is that when cousins Rex and Jim got together, there weren’t any quiet moments! Will have a toast in Rex’s memory at our upcoming ‘Owen Family Get-together’ in Methven. Kind regards Trish
