My Sincere and heart felt condolences to all the whanau at this time. My name is Mathew Swasbrook and my mother and Uncle Eddies 1st wife Carol were Sister's. (I was her favourite nephew, just saying!!) I lost a younger brother only 3 weeks before Uncle Eddie passed away and was back in NZ for his funeral so Uncle's timing was a little bit off just like when he was driving buses. lol My memories would always be cherished as I was partly raised with Uncle n Aunty Carol when they were in Eastbourne and grew close to my De'thierry whanau. I'll alway's remember Uncle as a humble man and never did I hear a word of anger or anything like that come out of his mouth. Very Stern but never angry. My mother thought the world of her brother in-law as well, well enough to name one of her son's after him. I never knew how ever that my brother had been given Uncle's full name Fredrick Edward. Apologies to who ever Fredrick was because both those men only really used Eddie. Just like all our loved one's who have passed on, I'm gonna miss you Uncle :'-( may you rest in peace in the loving arms of our lord n saviour Jesus Christ for ever n ever Amene

Mathew Swasbrook

My heart is with you all my whanau I want to thank you for being a part of my life without you I would not exist today my Uncle/Dad and my children were blessed to have known you, you always had an open and loving heart a big booming smile and a kind word for everyone. I remember when I was younger and during the holidays you would make a point of coming to get me to go up to Kwakwa and stay at Ellen’s, coming to stay at Eastbourne I will always have wonderful memories of you to treasure. Pam my heart aches for you I got to see the love you both shared but also the wonderful times you had together there have been more than a million smiles and laughs between you both over the years. May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord shine his face upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace Love and blessings always Joanna

My sincerest condolences for you at this time. You have my deepest sympathy . Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Eddie truly was one of the most caring, warm and welcoming person I ever met. He considered everyone his family and was one of the worlds greatest gentlemen. The world will be a lesser place without him in it. xxxxx
