Wood, Margaret Gertrude (nee Seatter) 2.6.1932 - 6.2.202. Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Christchurch Hospital. Dearly loved wife of Phil Wood, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Philippa and Alex, Alan and Sarah, Rachael and Rob, Jon, Jenny, Richard and Ariana, and Andrew and Ploy, proud grandmother of Amber (1988-2007), Georgina, Dan, Jeremy, Andre, Sabian, Christian, Julian, Rosie, Alexandria, Ben, and Jayden. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at St Johns Anglican Church, Westport, on Tuesday, February 14, at 1.30pm. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Somerfield Home for their care and friendship. Dear Phil and family - when I think of Aunty Margaret I think of generous mystery Christmas presents arriving each year from the South Island for all of us - and this sense of strong will and seeking mind, and positivity to problem solve, and of course much more. May her life be celebrated well and the impacts she made - with appreciation Sue
We have great family memories of holidays at my mother's house, 21 Romilly St. With no restricting fence our four children would quickly gravitate to be with their cousins at No. 23. Margaret made them feel welcome and was behind many fun activities such as cooking sausages on sticks over a bonfire we'd made at the North Beach. We're now sharing these happy memories as we think of you all, Phil & family, with love and sympathy Jo, Dave, Lisa, Sonya & Maria.
I hope your family can take comfort in the peaceful passing of her life, may she rest in that peace
