Wonderful to see you all, great send off for Uncle Ron. tribute sent with love and affection thinking of you all ... I always remember a very gentle caring person, very calm and reassuring in any circumstance. One of my first memories of him is going to Marilyn and Donnas 5 birthday party, we were in Holloway place, Mum, me and Craig all dressed up in our best cloth for Uncle Ron to come and pick us up , me very excited to see and play with Marilyn and Donna, to see what special party and presents they would have. Uncle Ron arrived in his best shirt too, picked us up and on the way to Melville we got a flat tyre!! He very calmly changed it lifting us out of the car …( the black one with the backwards doors) he lay on the ground and changed the tyre no fuss! Other memories are loving being the other Henneker's in addition to you four. Uncle Ron and Bev taking all 6 of us on holidays to Whangamata and Raetahi . Six kids across bench seats, extra special when you were the one in the front in between . Being taken to see the snow for the first time! Mr Smith's big old house open fire ,coal range, sleeping in bunks in the verandas, antlers down the hall !!Travelling back to Hamilton sitting on sacks of potatoes and carrots and sides of mutton in the boot. Uncle Ron taught me about how to poach eggs with abit of vinegar! make pea and ham soup on cold winters day and if we were extra good brought pink doughnuts! Very special growing up adventures with my cousins Marilyn, Donna, Allen and Stephen, going to the Waikato A & P show, washing the dishes together dancing to the radio, sleeping top and tail. Growing as teenagers' boyfriends, new careers ,cars, makeup parties Nutri metics and tupperware !! Aunty Bev always threatened Uncle Ron would “ do his nanna!!!”, but I never did see that ,and Aunty Bev was always having “ my godfathers “ turn up but that never happened either !!! Fly high Uncle may you have light winds.
