HE AITUA Kua hinga a DELIA LILLIAN RIRIA WETINI (NEE KAIWHATA) Our darling Nanny Bebe passed away last night (09.03.2023) at home in her beloved Paroa after a courageous battle with cancer. She, during this time, was always surrounded with the love of her family who now mourn her passing. Nanny Bebe has now slipped in to eternal sleep until Jehovah calls her home to paradise. Loving wife of the late Tim Patikura Wetini. Devoted mother of Heta, the late Tiraherehere, Waka, Lois Okeroa, Lisa Arapera, Mikaere (Jeff), Patrick Hira and Georgia Riria. Loving kuia to her mokopuna, tuarua and tuatoru. She was born to this world by her biological parents Shirley Rakuraku (Ngai Tuhoe/Te Whanau a Apanui) and Marvin Robertson. She then became a whangai to Tamati Mahanga Kaiwhata (Taiwhakaea/Ngati Kahungunu) and Mereheeni Kaiwhata (nee Mokai) (Ngati Pukeko) and lived all her life in Paroa. A faithful servant of the Jehovah Witnesses, she lived her life according to the Bible and spread the word for more than 50 years. He wahine aroha ki te tangata, ahakoa ko wai, ahakoa no hea. He kuia I pumai ai ki tana whakapono, a, mate noa. NGA WHAKANEKENEKE Nanny Bebe will lie in state at her residence at 80A Wano Road, Paroa, Whakatane. She will remain here until Sunday 11am where she will be taken to Te Paroa Urupa, Taiwhakaea for burial. Following this, there will be a service at the Kingdom Hall, Bellvue Drive, Whakatane at 1pm.
