We love you and you will always be in our thoughts. I loved growing up spending Christmas at your place every year (although I hated waiting to open presents until after lunch!) Every time I use the phrase "wherever you be let your winds blow free" I think of you Nana, you taught me it and I have always loved that phrase. You were so real, down to earth and caring. Always loved, always remembered. Love Michelle, Adrian and Zoe xxoo

To all of Auntie Betty’s family, my cousins and their families. I am sorry I cannot be with you today but I am thinking of you all and sending love and sympathy. Auntie Betty will now be at peace in a better place. This is a difficult time for everyone, but we will hold on to the happy memories. You are all in my thoughts today. Love from Shona

Nana we love you and thank you for all of the memories we shared when we visited New Zealand as kids and once or twice when we were teenagers. I have memories of looking out to the mountain from the sun room in Lydford Place and seeing granddad’s garage and your Vege gardens. I remember Beau the sheep dog was a bit grumpy to us as kids but I only have happy memories of you and grandad. Flying kites on the big oval, walking to back beach for a swim and of course the birthday celebrations at Marbles with the family. I’m glad we spoke a couple of weeks ago and you were very thankful I called and were in good spirits. We love you and thank you for being the the woman you were and will always be in our hearts. We live on in your legacy and we hope your proud. Love you nana.

Dear Aunty Betty, Always there for me and Dennis after mum passed away so long ago. After I got married, you and Uncle Jack were always good to my Allan and made him feel part of the family. Once our two girls came, you became like the Grandma they never had. We loved you coming over for Christmas, our visits to Lydford Place and taking Millie, and Angus before, for walks around the block and the girls knew where the lollies were too. We will miss you from our lives. RIP. Love from Gaye, Eden and Phoebe Samuel

Dear Aunty Betty. You've finally left us to be with those gone before you. The last of Nic and Rita's family. Loved visiting you from an early age in Hawera to take Mickey for walks then at Lydford Place to bring you seafood to eat. Both Lesley & I & the kids treated you as mum / grandma as your dear sister Nina passed away 40 years ago You've alot of catching up to do with loved ones. Thinking of you all from here in Scotland. RIP Betts. Nephew Dennis and Lesley and great aunt to Nic & Nina. Sadly missed. ❤️
