I very fondly remember growing up next to the Emms place. Their door was always open to my sister and me where we were treated with tea and biscuits. Lorna treated us like her own grandchildren and she and Maurice even attended my school on grandparents day. I won’t forget her generosity and warmth. Rest in peace.

Our family lived next door to the Emms when I was growing up between 1997-1999. It was the days where you actually made acquaintance with your neighbours and you could just pop over unannounced to say hello. The Emms took very good care of me and my younger sister. And when we'd come over on the weekends, Lorna (and Maurice) would happily make us tea and have a chat and keep us entertained. She was very kind and helpful, and I remember she knitted us a small woollen blanket which my sister became very attached to! Lorna and the Emms will always be part of my cherished childhood memories. Thank you Lorna. Love from Iris
