Tributes

Living at Coatsville we both knew Theo very well. We also knew the late Alan Sinclair very well. Both were excellent hosts as well as keen gardeners. Alan cooked an excellent dinner, and Theo knew his wines. Both are missed enormously. May they both be blessed. I think heaven would be delighted to receive them.

The family of Theo has been much saddened by his passing. We remember him as a soft spoken and helpful individual always ready with advice and a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by his remaining brothers and sisters, in-laws and family - Dan and Trish Verryt, Joe and Cyndy Verryt, Henk and Mariette Verrijt, Kay Verryt, Rosemarie and Brian Kidd, Pam and Peter Cowsill. Rest in peace with your brothers, Tony and Emile and your sisters Elly and Angela. With fond memories. Family Verryt

Theo joined the society in 2006 and was our Patron for four years. He was given Lifetime membership to recognise his great contributions to the club. He was generous with his time and knowledge, doing many a demonstration or talk. Theo really shined when it was time for an orchid show. He would fill a wall or a stage with 3-tiers of blooming cymbidiums – an amazing sight appreciated by all who passed by. These efforts were brought to life with Marks support. His work with breeding Cymbidiums was phenomenal. Theo was a gentle soul who is fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Oh Theo, you meant the absolute world to me. I am eternally grateful for you and eternally indebted to you. Your friendship was the single best thing that ever happened to me. I know you didn't believe in the afterlife, but I'd like to, and I hope you're having an absolute ball on the other side.
