A wonderful character, Shirley became a friend from walking our dogs over the years along the same walkway. We had many chats and debates across all sorts of subjects and she was never short of interesting insights and opinions - always with a fab dose of dry humour thrown in. A strong-minded, intelligent woman, she might have looked tough on the outside but was actually sensitive, kind-hearted and caring, always asking after others, ready with her dried banana treats for every dog who bounded over, sometimes 4 or 5 at once, to wait for ‘The Treat Lady’ to give them their handout. And often little gifts to many of us in the form of a new natural shampoo or moisturiser she had made up in her kitchen. It was very sad to hear of her diagnosis, but like everything she took it in her stride and gave it the good fight. In these last few months, she never complained, just wanted to talk normal stuff, to hear about day to day life, good or bad. I would ask her how she was feeling and she would say, ‘Not too bad,’ or even when in a lot of pain towards the end, the most you would get is, ‘Ah, back’s a bit sore today.’ She faced her illness with courage and dignity, determined to give it her best shot – the way she lived her life. It was a pleasure to know you Shirley - may you be at peace now, back in the Oneness of All That Is. xx

Shirley cleaned our house every Friday for over 8 years, during this time we became friends. Always incredibly reliable and hardworking There was always a a lot of pride in Shirley’s work and it just won’t be same without her. Shirley also made our shampoo and various other lovely natural products. We were both heartbroken when she told us she wasn’t well. Shirley sent the loveliest texts a few weeks ago, no complaining or self pity, a wonderful tough lady, our love goes out to her family.
