Well done Chris, Pete and kids for honouring your dad, father-in-law and grandad in a dignified and touching service today. Driving into town through Fitzroy won't be the same without him there - but all the memories of our school days sneaking out to your place at lunch time, with your dad and mum there tending gardens, cooking and chatting away with us will live on. Rest in peace Mr Strange. xx

Rest in Peace Maurice, back with Dorothy. We were neighbours, as the kids grew up and shared those responsibilities - a second home for all of them. Both you and Dorothy were such great support for Ken and I through all the years we lived in Tupoki St, and as we moved on but always remained in contact. Our sympathy to all of you as you say farewell to a loving father and all round good man. Our love, Mary and the late Ken & Ronald; Gerard, Matt, Rachel, Gabrielle & Cat.

The wise old owl sat in an oak The more he saw the less he spoke The less he spoke the more he heard Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird

Dad.,you have been the rock of our family. like the rock of Gibralta. We know you have always been there for us. As it says in St Pauls letter " I have fought the good fight to the end. I have finished the faith . All that remains is to receive the crown of glory." Dad, I hope you know how blessed we are to have had you as our dad. Rest in peace - you've earned it !!!!

Patricia de Zoete

Sending my love to you all and remembering your dad (and mum). Our second home in Tupoki st!

We were very sorry to hear of Maurice's passing but we are pleased he had his wish to be in his home when he passed away. We have fond memories of when we visited Paul and Sue in 2004 when our mum was 80, and we came down to New Plymouth to meet all the family. Maurice and Dorothy always kept in touch over the years and it was lovely to read the family news. Mum is 98 years old now and and still talks about her one and only trip to New Zealand. We send you our sincere condolences

Dearest Pop, I will always remember the great times we shared, either on the river or in the garden. Your strength of character, wisdom and kindness has left a lasting imprint on me which I will carry forward. We are so proud of the many things you achieved and the family you have supported. May you rest in peace now.
