Hi Deb, So sad to hear the news of Pete. Me and Kev always managed to catch up with him at the Awakino Pub. If he wasn't there we would shout him a bottle of beer next time he would go there. He was a wonderful person and I will never forget him. From Snapper Young from Kina Road, Oaonui. xxx
Hey Deb, Pete & family. I was really looking forward to seeing how my dog Bones....now Bella, was having the life of Riley at your ranch. Thank you for being such a fabulous friend to all at Mohakitino station, they are really going to miss you. You certainly were a great dancer, so much fun & memorable with your crate of beers. Godbless, RIP. Cheers, Mini Radich.
The Gully will never be the same without Pete. We have plenty of happy memories and funny stories that Pete has left us with. Lots of love to Deb and all the family and friends there! Rach, Warren, Anna and Phoebe
No too long ago, I wended my way down Mohokatino Road following my childhood memory map from long ago, looking for some dog kennels under big trees beside the road, a group of people beside the road told me I had the right place and go up to the house to see Pete.My husband and I enjoyed a few hours with Pete at his bar reminiscing many long ago childhood memories of his mum and dad,my mum and dad, dogs, warm hospitality that I can still feel, horse rides with Trish and quinces.. lots of quinces. My condolences to all his family.RIL
My deepest condolences to Deb Grant and family, such a spirited happy man. Fond memories. Always welcoming, always filled my cup, would be “seen Pete today was so good” Thanks so much for the live stream ❤️🙏
So pleased to be able to be at Pete's send off via streaming, from Whitby, UK, not many folks I'd turn out for at 3am but as Stretch said, all you had to do was meet the man once. You only ever had to say PETE & folks all over Taranaki would know who you meant. I reckon when he gets to the pearly gates there's probably a shitload of paperwork these days but bugger that, all he'll have to do is press the buzzer, the tinny angelic voice will ask ''Who's there?' & he'll just say, PETE. And they'll swing open.
Rest In Peace Pete. Trish, Grant, Juliana, Deb and friends - Kia kaha. Was awesome to watch via live stream. Take care, big hugs from Hawkes Bay.

Uncle Pete, I still can't believe that you have gone, Growing up as a kid you were my idol that I looked up to, the years up the gully that you taught me, I use in life today, From Mustering up the back to the burnouts in the kitchen & shooting the kitchen clock, the 3 wheelers, the BSA mad milk runs after docking them lambs and the 3 castles that mum never knew about 😉, the Guzzi that cracked into life every time it started, and the Dozer that made them hills, really going to miss you Mate you'll always be in my thoughts. Rest easy Uncle Pete Love from, Jamie, Sandra, mason , jasmine, Skylah , and tynan
