Jo and Alex Svendsen hired me when I was 15 years old, I am now 61. Alex patiently taught me photograhic composition and printing skills that served me well in my later travels working in Australia, Singapore, London and New York. Jo played a big role in running the family business. She and Alex complemented each others abilities. Jo stood out as being a strong independent women, hard working and always motivated and motivating. Both Jo and Alex had a gorgeous sense of humour, kind hearts and inclusive (though Alex could seem reserved) and it was a pleasure to be with them. I have clear memories of their pride and deep love for their children Lynne and Paul. Sorry for your loss Lynne and Paul. Thank you Jo, and Alex, for welcoming me into your lives and for giving a young 15 year old a chance to grow at a time when some smaller minds may not have. Arohanui June
