BATES Ethel May (nee Hotter):  On Friday 14th April 2023 as the result of an accident, aged 93 years.  Dearly beloved wife of the late Douglas.  Loved mother and mother in law of Suzanne and Alistair Lewis, and John and Philippa Bates.  Loved Nana Bates of David and Lauren, Sarah; Megan, Tristan and Charlotte, and Callum.  Great Nana of Austin, Emma, Hunter, and Ryder.  Dear friend of Christine Taplin.  “On our farm I worked each day and this is where I wished to stay.”  Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate both Ethel’s and Doug’s lives together at Tairoa Lodge Hawera, on Monday 24th April 2023, commencing at 1pm.
