Tributes

To dear Auntie Doris We have loved having you in our lives over the years. We enjoyed coming up to visit you and bringing Mum to see you and spending time. We have loved spoiling you with outings. We know how much you missed Mum after an 85 year friendship when she passed away. But I hope you are both having a great catch up. You would have had so much to talk about. Remembering you with love. Janet xx

Dear Doris and family, how do I express the surprise of hearing from you and Shirley after so many years seeking me out. You and Hec came into my life so late that I was only just getting to know you and you to know I. You brought new light into our lives with my cousins lives. Loverly to have known and to you share just a little of our lifes journey. I'm sorry sorry we couldnt have made it more often. Shalom from Napier Chris and Tracey

Dearest Auntie Doris - we’re going to miss you so much. You’ve always been an important part of our lives. As Mum’s best friend (since age 6) we know how deeply her declining health and eventual passing affected you. We’ll miss our regular catch ups in Auckland. It was always a privilege to spend the day with you - spoiling you (just a wee bit). I’m thrilled I got to spend the day with you recently. I saw your decline since Mum’s funeral three months earlier. You were an amazing lady. You rose above adversity, married a wonderful, kind man and your family life began. Your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were greatly loved. I saw your huge sadness as your beloved Aaron, Klara and boys left for Ireland recently. Your mind was sharp, your memory extraordinary and your determination inspirational. I’ll miss our catch ups. I’ll miss your phone calls. I’ll miss your opinions and honesty. I’ll miss you. No rest home for you, Doris. Rest in peace my dear friend xx
