Dear Jill, Ruth and your whānau, I was saddened to read about Aunty Bev’s passing. All of the Smiths have such lovely memories of our time with Aunty Bev and Uncle Len and the fabulous Opunake Beach Carnival. Betty was so very fond of Bev, Len and your family and she always spoke about you all with love and gratitude. May Bev’s precious soul rest in eternal peace.

Our sympathies to all of Bev's family. She was a gracious mischevious lady with a lovely smile and always had time for a chat. A maker of the best sponges and christmas cakes and fantastic at enticing those little white fishes into her nets when she went whitebaiting. We will miss catching up with her at the Bowling Club and on the street in Opunake. R.I.P. Bev.

To Ruth and Jill and families. Your Mum was one of Opunake's true Icons! She was one of the reason's it was such a great little town to grow up in. Lew hit the nail on the head when he referred to her as Opunake's "Camp Mother"!! Can imagine the sadness you are all feeling but you should all feel proud of having such a wonderful Mum/Nana. She will be fondly remembered by so many, including Me!
