Koro Sonny me te whānau, my heart goes out to you all. Like so many here in Ōtepoti, I have missed both yours and matua Sonny's presence since you left nan. I giggled at your moko when they shared how you would always tell them how proud you were of them. I remember you saying that to me countless times too The very first time impacted on me the most because you knew I was really struggling to hold it down for me and my kids. Thank you for your kind words, tautoko and aroha to my whānau and I over the years. We have many fond memories of you both and cannot thank you enough for allowing us into your life. You made a huge difference to so many and yes, I learned so much about your tamariki too, but never got to meet the boys. Thinking of you all at this sad time. Aroha tino nui ki a koutou katoa xox
E rere ngā roimata mamae aroha, Te tangi a te ngākau kua haehaetia e te aroha mōu, Te wahine rangatira. Koutou e tū mai nei i te papa mākū i te marangai, Koutou kua koroewetia i te pō Te Pō uriuri, Te Pō tango-tango E rere ngā roimata, e rere, e rere.
On behalf of my brother Peter, my Aunty Ally and myself I would like to express our condolences to Matua Sonny and all of your whanau during the sad loss of Denise. We have very fond memories of Denise over the years travelling to Dunedin, and I know she loved our Mum very much too. Enjoy your whanau celebration of rememberance of a lovely lady with a heart of gold. Aroha-tino nui Whanau Te Whare North xx
It was an absolute pleasure to call Glenross Street home for two years while I studied at University. Denise was so caring and ensured I was always looked after - always taking a vested interest in all that I did. Even after I finished studying, Denise kept in touch, and along with Sonny, always followed my umpiring/refereeing progress and would ask after my family. It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Denise's passing. Whanau was everything to Denise and my thoughts are with you all at this terribly sad time. An incredible lady who's impact on my life will never be forgotten. Ka aroha hoki
To Uncle Sonny, Tania, Mason, Kurtis and extended family. My sincere condolences to you all at the sad loss of Auntie Denise. She was a very special Auntie and I have alot of special memories of the time I spent with her in my younger days. Going to watch Uncle Sonny play football and having our milk shakes in the old fashion metal containers is one memory that I cherish. I think I get my ironing skills from her also and to this day I still iron. My thoughts are with you all today. Cherish the memories you have. Love to you all Kim, Dunc and Boys xxxx
Denise, the words I so wish I could give to you in person- that's the thing with time it often goes by quickly and then those left feel robbed. I/we couldn't have asked for a better "second nana" than you. I have so many fond memories as a kid racing up and down your stairs in Glenross. Sunday roast dinners and staying at your house more times than I can recall. The delight when you had filled the baking containers. Thank you for being such a kind, hardworking person and I am privileged to have had you apart of my life. A loyal friend to mum and dad and us all. The thank yous could never be enough. To Sonny, Dana, Mason, Kurtis,Tania & Co. Thinking of you all at this super sad time. I know how much she meant to you all. See you all real soon With so much love and hugs Jenea & Nick xx
