Frankie Mayon Bell

19 March 20145 May 2023

Our darling Frankie Mayon Bell, gained her wings peacefully on Friday May 5, 2023 at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland.

Frankie was born on March 19, 2014 at Auckland Hospital to Josh Bell and Marielle Quedley. She was the younger sister to Milly, and later became a doting older sister to Asher and Charlie. Frankie grew up between East Auckland and Waiheke Island, and attended primary school at St. Josephs where she flourished and thoroughly enjoyed making friends. Frankie was a cheeky, fun, determined, brave, loving and bright girl with a wicked sense of humour and quick wit. Frankie was adored by her family and all of those whose lives she touched. Frankie loved animals and babies, with a wish to become an early childhood teacher later in life. Playing Netball, swimming, riding her bike, drinking tea, dancing and pulling cartwheels were some of Frankie’s favourite things to do. Frankie, Franks, Lil Frank Franks, Frankenweeny, the girl whose smile lit up the whole world. We will miss her laughter, her practical jokes and her kind heart. Frankie’s parents, step parents, grandparents, sisters, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends will cherish her memory always. To know Frankie was to know love. Baby girl we love you to the moon and back, forever in our hearts.

Tributes

My precious Frankie, there are no words that could ever sum up a loss as great as you. It’s impossible to understand how the world keeps spinning when you are no longer here, and I will never understand why it had to be you. Our kind-hearted little firecracker, sweet with a hint of spice. I miss every single thing about you. Your quick wit and the cheekiest nose scrunch every time you found something funny. Your love for animals, cool socks, sneakers, crocs! All of the cups of tea! The sound of your laugh. The cute texts, the snapchats, the filters, and how we tried to send the silliest faces possible just to make each other laugh. “Tato!”. “Chop chop!”. How you considered everyone else before yourself. The way you would run at me, full speed and without fail, every time I saw you for an all-in cuddle. It shatters my heart into a million pieces that I will never get one of those special Frankie cuddles again in this lifetime. Some special people bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone their light remains. This was you. There will never be another like you Franks. The part of my life where I had you will always be my favourite. Our hearts, and the world will never be the same. Rest easy and in so much love my darling. Aunty Toto loves you forever and ever xxx Ps. Please give your Mum and Dad lots of frights.

Our Darling Girl, We want to share some of my favourite things about you, using your initials ‘FMB’. F – Fierce, funny, fancy and free spirit are all you. When you burst onto the scene on the 19 of March 2014 we knew we had a real firecracker on our hands! You deeply loved your family & friends – both young and old. And your furbabies – Tilly, Pickles, Pippi Rose and Gizmo! M – Meticulous. Your socks and shoes had to be just right. You loved maths and you loved munching on olives. Music – impeccable taste. When you were younger Callum Scott was one of your favourite artists. When Dancing on My Own came on we used to say ‘who’s this Frankie’, and in your cheeky way you would say ‘Hmmm Callum, maybe’. Your two favourite 'M's' were Mum & Milly – we know how much you idolised and adored them. Milly you're the best big sister. B – Bright. It wasn’t Green it wasn’t Blue – it was Aqua. Bubbly, beautiful and brilliant. You loved a brew of English breakfast tea, But if I think of any word starting with B to describe you Frankie it's BRAVE. You were brave throughout your life and prepared to give anything a go. Running at full steam for a hug and not knowing if you would tackle us to the ground. We miss those hugs! It’s been over the last few months that you have shown me and LewLew what being brave really is, even when many of us struggled. Oh Frankenweenie, we will never understand why this has happened. We’ll honour you by living our life the way you did – having fun, loving hard on our family and friends, munching on olives and drinking copious amounts of tea. We miss the pieces of our hearts that now reside somewhere in the universe, we know you have them safe. We miss you and no amount of time will ever change this. To the moon and back, RaRa and LewLew xxx

Dear Frankie with the sweetest smile and most beautiful soul. Although we only met a couple of times your charisma and cute charm won us over instantly and since hearing of you gaining your angel wings, we have not stopped thinking about you daily. We’ll watch out for the little reminders like a rainbow or a ladybird and blow you kisses to the sky 🩷 Marz and Joshy, we are here for you always and want you to know how much we think of you and your other beautiful children and try to shoulder some of your pain. We thought this poem was a lovely piece for us to read over when we think about you all and how you might be remembering your sweet girl Frankie… She's in the sun, the wind, the rain, she's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. She sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear. You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love, you'll be together before long, until then listen for her song. All our love, Tamara, Rob and Aawa xxxx
