E ngā mana, e ngā reo, o tēnā hapū, o tēnā iwi, tēnei te mihi kia koutou katoa.Bereavement Panui on behalf of the Paikea Whanau, regarding the passing of a loved Dad, Papa, Brother, Cousin & Uncle, Selwyn James Paikea “Shorty”, who sadly passed away at home.Shorty is currently in our care and is departing shortly to Otangarei via the Bypass, where a slow drive will take place. At the conclusion of the haerenga through OT, Shorty will be taken to Kaka Porowini to Lay in State for the duration of the hui mate. Whanau have advised that they will be heading to Otamatea via the Marohemo Hall for the Ra Nehu, which will take place on Thursday, 11th May 2023. Due to the closure of Bickerstaffe Road and closures in and out of Maungaturoto & Whangarei, we ask that our whanau whanui travel safely. Any changes to the current kaupapa will be updated.
