BROWN, Hugh Smith. Peacefully, on 9 May 2023, at Rowena Jackson. Beloved son of Alexander* and Agnes* Brown, dearly loved husband of Joan*, much loved and respected father of Sandy, Ian, and Lorne. A loved Grandad to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hugh Brown worked with my father-in-law, Lloyd Pearce at the Invercargill City Council Electrical Department…always a true gentleman,
Hugh was our next door neighbour many years ago. He was always very kind, helpful and friendly. I am sad to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family.
Hugh was a true gentleman with a wealth of electical knowledge and through our common interest with the Southland branch of the NZ Electical Institute Inc we shared these interests. Hugh was one of a few that was instrumental in the electricity lines network in Southland being returned to the consumers by way of the Southland Electric Power Supply Consumer Trust in December 1997. My condolences to the family. May he rest in peace in a life well served for others.
