Colin was one of my favourite uncles, and Alma a favorite aunt. He was always positive and full of life and vigour. I thought that they were a most attractive couple, and could only imagine how wonderful they looked when dancing, which they did often. Colin was one of the first to buy a Japanese car (surprising considering his war service), an Isuzu Bellett, which he loved and enthused about. He was quite a petrol head for his day, and would discuss the virtues of his current vehicle. I remember fondly their trips to Waiheke, where my parents had a batch. Colin was Senior Building Supervisor to me (Gary) and the late Clarrie Willis. In the 1960's, we worked in the Maori Housing Department in the Trade Training Scheme. We covered the South Auckland area, from Otahuhu to Pukekohe to Waiuku. Treasured memories of the busy times with the tradies (Electrical, Building, Plumbing and Drain laying).

So sorry to hear of Colin’s passing. He was a very good friend of my father, Colin Creamer. My father used to tell many tales of their exploits when they were young growing up in Grey Lynn. I met Colin and Alma on quite a few occasions and remember them with fondness. My father Colin passed away in 2016 here in Tauranga. Let’s hope they are once again sharing a few yarns!
