Today sitting there with so many of Bills friends from the Navy, Coramandal, Tauranga work mates and family from the top brass to the ratings firemen those from the civil defence and one from the airforce who told me that he played for the Bill Morley Cup BILL would have been proud and i took a poppy that i will wear in his honor at sanders reserve on Anzac day in his memery Andy and Tisha

Dear Rosemarie and family, Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss and in this time of grieving. I was unable to travel to Auckland to attend in person, something I had wanted to do when this sad day came around, but I have joined remotely to participate and remember Bill via the live stream. Bill was the Training Warrant Officer at the Officer Training School when I joined the RNZN as a Midshipman back in 1976. In that first formative year, he was influential in my development as a young officer. Bill remained influential as we both progressed our Navy careers. It is a tribute to the status and respect Bill had in our Navy that the Seamanship Training School is named after him. Again, my deepest condolences in these sad times.
