Late condolences from the Collins family. Thanks for the netball drop offs Mrs Lardner... amongst your amazing Civil work. Love to Judith and David who I knew pretty well growing up.
Greetings to the family of Joan An amazing woman. So blessed to have known her. Glad she is at peace. Sincerely Betty V
Beautiful service. Very honouring. A woman of noble character, “for her worth is far above rubies” Proverbs 31:28 “Her children rise up and call her blessed” Your mother was always very kind and welcoming to me. Impacted my life. My love and prayers to you all David, Jude and Vig.
So sad to read that your Mum has passed away. Your family from Wales will always keep fondest memories of Granny Joan in our hearts. Thinking of you all at this sad time. Inez & family x

Thank you Joan for your wonderful support of the Disability sector. You were one of the first people I met when I came to NZ and I've enjoyed your company and commitment in the intervening decades. I was in awe of your energy and involvement in such a large range of causes, nothing was too much trouble, you found time for everyone and everything you were committed to. It was great o have more time with you when we sat together on Auckland Age Concern's board. Thank you for being a wonderful human being, an honour to have known you. Vivian
Awwww Jude... I am so sorry to hear this news that Dear Joan has passed away. She was such an amazing Woman. My Mum passed away in 2020 at the age of 94. I think of her every day and miss her dearly. I know you were very close too... and I know Joans's passing will leave a huge hole in your heart and life too... Sending you my sincere thoughts and empathy for that loss Jude and warm gentle hugs. Even though it's been a long time since I have seen her and you, I still have lots of fond memories of Joan and how warm and friendly and inviting she was to everyone she came in touch with and with us growing up in Beach Haven. What an amazing photo this... I have never seen her so young and you are just the spitting image. I'm sorry I can't be with you today in person but I am linked into the live stream and sending my love . Take care my Dear. xoxo 😥🥰
Arohanui, to the moon and back..
Dearest Joan, thank you for all the special memories. (Some you don't know about). Like the time when we were much younger and we kind of borrowed your car one night to go to Micky Sav! The numerous performances you patiently watched of Lady and The Tramp and ABBA. The singing and playing the Ukelele. The holidays at Matapouri and Whitianga. You introduced us to PHAB and the camps we absolutely loved. And Riding For The Disabled. You gave us opportunities and experiences we would never have had, if it weren't for you. Thank you again for those wonderful memories. Arohanui Julie, Derek and Family.
Joan was a stalwart in our community and dedicated her life to making a difference for people. She was an early adopter of community development setting a wonderful example for many of us. Thank you Joan for all your wonderful work over the years offering your knowledge and insight. Joan was awarded a life member of ANCAD and you can read her story in the book ‘My Story, Your Story Together Builds Communities. Condolences to Joan’s family. Rest in peace Joan. Yvonne Powley
Joan you touched so so many peoples lives, if it wasn’t for you then so many PHAB members would never had the opportunity to meet such a wide and varied bunch of people who ultimately became lifelong friends, partners and even spouses. Our lives have been forever shaped by the simple act of friendship from being members of an organisation that you initiated, where equality for all socially was at its heart and soul., and still is. Oh those were the days my friend. We send our love to your loved ones and give thanks for having had you in our lives. Rest peacefully knowing you lived a full and rewarding life. May you live on in our hearts and minds. Emma & Kevin
Our beautiful Joan.. So special to the Ritchie family. You have been in our lives for so many years, from our family holidays in Whitianga as young children, to spending time at our house in Tauranga. You introduced us to PHAB at a young age, making lifelong friends as a result and many funny stories to go with it. We will miss your infectious chuckle, your intense concentration while playing 500 and your love of Matjes herrings for breakfast. I will turn the bed down for you one last time tonight, love you forever Joanie with all our hearts. Mac & Hugh, Julie, & Derek, Ken & Che and your scrabble buddy, Bonnie.
I know you will be somewhere up there buzzing around with a glass of wine or two in your hand For all those memorable nights out I thank you Love Paul
Although I have not seen Joan for such a long time, I clearly remember her as a much loved member of the ARA planning staff, dedicated to her work, and respected for her big heart and social conscience. My sincere condolences to Joan's family Roy Turner
