Our condolences to all the whanau of King Don. A very beautiful tribute, I0a marlborough st old residents, I will always remember Don with a smile, every time we (me and dave marlow) caught a taxi the conversation always ended with talk about the races or "do u have any tips today don?" and he would tell us how much he put on a certain race and say he never bloody got anywhere oh but polly won a few dollars with a smile and chuckle. So yeah as a friend of the taxis the memories will be with us for always, rest in peace and kia kaha to all.

I was saddened when I heard of Mr Beadles passing. He was a kind and true gentleman and a respected icon of the Feilding community. He touched so many lives including my own, from his days as a teacher to owning the local taxi business and will undoubtedly be missed. I cannot be with you today but will tuning in from afar. RIL Mr Beadle 🙏🏻
Don you were born 7 years before me so I don’t remember a time when you were not part of our family. Many years of memories. My earliest is of you as a high school student, socks always working their way nearer to your ankles than your knees. After school you did deliveries for one of the greengrocers in Feilding.I can still picture you on the bike with the big basket in front. To be honest in my memory you do not look any different then than from my last memory of you, waving out as you drove past last week.On your way to pick up Crumpy no doubt. He will miss you,as will your family & the Feilding community. As I said many memories.Church St with Aunty Alice & Uncle Arthur & Buster. You & my mother playing in the annual Queens Birthday hockey tournament at Victoria Park.Your teaching career.I worked at the same school as you towards the end of your time teaching. The children liked you.Firm but fair I have heard many of them say. When F.I.S,where you taught & counselled for 24 years had its 50 year reunion your name was put forward to cut the cake. Not one person objected. The general consensus was oh yes everyone likes Don.When I asked if you would do it you said no there must be someone more important than me.Humble as ever.Thankfully your family talked you into doing it.You were wrong Don there was no one more important than you.Taxi driving came next, carrying on the family tradition.Your granddaughter’s recipe book. How proud you were when you brought that to show me.Dave Mackinven our cousin you brought to see me as you wanted me to see the research he had done into our family history. That was a source of great interest to you.Now both you & Dave have gone.Rest easy Don your memory will live on.Everyone likes Don what a great epitaph.Love & condolences to all of Don’s loved ones.Judy Benson née Hutton.

Thinking of the Beadle family as you say farewell to Don. This very well known Feilding gentleman will be a massive loss to the community. There was no one like this beautiful man - an icon through and through……. Feilding won’t be the same without Don Beadle.
