Dear Robin, We didn't get to meet often, but I knew when I saw you with my sister Winanda that you were a perfect couple. You could talk for hours - about what I don't know - and enjoyed many things together, such as the homes you renovated in Brisbane and the beautiful eco friendly home you built together in New Plymouth. You were so hard-working and actually seemed to enjoy doing long shifts at the glass factory in Brisbane (crazy). Together with Winanda you always made lovely productive gardens - particularly well fertilized due to the cows next door in New Plymouth. You became a good friend and mentor to winanda's son Craig. I'm so glad you and Winanda found each other and had many - though not enough - years together. I will miss visiting you. You should have stuck around a lot longer. Jenny Newton -van Uden
We are saddened to hear of Rob's passing. He was a neighbour and good friend to us when our son passed away and we enjoyed many cups of tea and support with him. He was always cheerful and often called in with his ute full of wood and was very proud of it. He will leave a big gap in our neighbourhood and was very well respected. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and we wish them peace and comfort. Alan and Betty Gudopp
Rob was a member of our mens gym group, Men Can Gym, twice a week at Rampage West. Rob would give it all each session, sweat, laugh, puff, give cheek to the instructors and always enjoy the coffee and conversations that followed. Rob we all respected your sticking in there, your contribution and your friendship. We will all miss you being around and seeing your ute full of wood. On behalf of us our mens group we pass on thoughts, prayers and condolences to Robs family.

Rob, we would expect your occasional knock on our door and welcome you in. We certainly did not expect your untimely passing. We got to know you through our long term friendship with dear Winnie and we know how supportive you were to her throughout her illness. We know how much you loved her and missed her. We've appreciated your friendship, your kindness and your smile. This is so sad; we will miss you. We offer our condolences to your family and hope they can find comfort in the knowledge of your love for them.
