How precious it was to meet you all those years ago at Queens Academy Delwyn. Watching and listening to the live stream today hearing Gaye mentioning Gaby, Matt, Sylvia, Pearl, Theresa, Andrea brought back some great happy memories. We were so lucky to have known you, spent time with you and we were so pleased you came to our civil union in Auckland. Your laugh was infectious and Love how you saw the best in everything. Our sincere condolences to your son Dylan and your mother, sister and all who loved you. Suaimhneas Síoraí (Rest in Peace) ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

Delwyn, the constant theme of all your tributes is how you were a shining light for others. Mine will be no different. You were an incredible support during one of the most difficult times of my life. A miracle surprise pregnancy should have been a joy, but I found myself with instant and severe antenatal depression and hyperemesis. Your compassion, empathy, and tips on how to manage it were instrumental in helping me get through the other side. You truly had a gift and it was an honour to hear your stories and share in your spirituality. You helped me see the rainbow when all I could see was the storm. My sincerest condolences go out to your family. Love and light, Jacqui

Hi y’all, I’m Theresa from Texas. First of all, my husband Andy and I would like to express our deepest condolences to you, Dylan and Delwyn’s family. I never imagined that I would be writing this tribute to our beloved friend, Delwyn! But here goes… My connection to Delwyn started at Queens Academy in Auckland. We started out as colleagues but quickly became great friends. Through the countless hours in the teachers’ room working, and laughing or cutting up, through school activities/parties, and weekend activities in a park or a pub, we built a wonderful and lasting friendship. Andy & I would eventually move to New Plymouth in 2011. While we were living there, Delwyn would take time to visit us when she came down to visit her own family. Then we returned to Texas in December 2013. In Delwyn’s last visit to New Plymouth, she had known we were returning to Texas, she gave me a New Zealand souvenir, a green New Zealand T-shirt. Delwyn, I still have and wear that shirt!! I’m really happy that we managed to stay in touch through the years! Though we are deeply saddened by your passing, we are very grateful and honored for the time we had with you! We love you, Delwyn! You are forever in our hearts and mind! Love, Theresa & Andy Freedman of Texas, USA

Dear Pat, Cheryl and Gaylyne My aroha goes out to you and your whanau in the loss of Delwyn. When my two older girls attended Turuturu School, Pat you would walk them there and back as I had my other three still at home. I am grateful for those times.Delwyn and Kaylee are the same age. My kids send their aroha to you at this sad time. Treasure the special memories and reflections through the times ahead. God bless you all Ngaraina (Raina) Brooks

We have been very good friends since we met on St. Patrick's Day 20 years ago. Delwyn was studying Japanese before, so we always told each other dark jokes in Japanese😆 Every year on Facebook, we congratulate each other on our birthdays to write, you are old man! 😆 Delwyn loves teriyaki chicken, so please eat a lot over there and enjoy it. It was nice to meet you one day before you passed away and talk with you a lot. I hope you take my funny jokes Delwyn!!

Delwyn in the two years I have known you I came to regard you as a friend with such a gentle, caring nature. Your beautiful presence will be very much missed 💚

You were kind to me in a time of not much kindness. I didn't know you long but I knew you well. You made the world a better place and it is poorer for you but being in it.
