Nik, Jae, Phoenix, Neo my heart is shattered for you. š Dan you are a true legend who made a huge impact in my pÅtikiās life these past couple of years. You literally had my back in HÄpai each time we were otw, and for a significant time you may not have thought so, but I know and appreciate how you and Nik made a damn good effort to help me through some damn tough times off tw. You had a heart of gold. I regret that my spine is no where near as strong as that of you and your beautiful family. š You always made people laugh, (and occasionally cringe), at your swearing that flowed so well with your smart Alec talk. ā¤ļø Your eyes had a cheeky twinkle and your grin made so many people love your character. I know how much you made me laugh even when you gave me shit. Dan the man, āDaniel Sonā, you were the full stop in the line the day we buried my girl. I am full of remorse that I havenāt been and canāt be there with your whÄnau. To your parents, brothers and wider whÄnau, much Aroha and respect to you. Your parents raised a very talented family. Nik I appreciate you beautiful lady. Inspirational You, your Awesome Dan and incredible babies have all been admired by my girls and I. Kua hinga te TÅtara i te Waonui-a-TÄne, the TÅtara tree has fallen in TÄneās magnificent forest. You have left a huge hole in so many lives and hearts Dan the water man. Rest in eternal love š ā¤ļø

Geoff, Jackie, Nikyla, Jeremy, Joe and family, From Fitzroy to NPBHS school days, growing up in Fitzroy, playing footy at Tukapa, Geoff & Jackie starting the floor sanding business and the boys taking over, to our random meetings in the street and a good old catch up. Daniel with a twinkle in his eye, a mischievous smile on his face and always ready with a big bear hug. Daniel and his Aunty Phyll had a mutual love of pavlova, she made it, he ate it, I swear he could eat a whole one if you let him, he always teased her. "Aunt Phyll don't know if this one's up to scratch" as he dived in for his 2nd or 3rd helping! love and hugs to Jacky and Geoff, Nikyla Jae, Phoenix and Neo our hearts go out to you xxxx Tracey & Alastair

Dan, Great memories of our time in Perth...the shared Christmas's in Sorrento and Ocean Reef...the emergency calls to Brian to rescue vehicles in need of towing or mechanical tweaking...Poolside BBQs. Dan, always with his wide smile and unique sense of humour. I so value our chance meeting at the Fitzroy Cafe just 2 weeks ago....you telling me about your family, with such pride..You will be hugely missed. My heartfelt condolences to family. Anne McCarrison
Hey Dan. Im going to miss those those great chats about work and life. A truley good bloke that was enjoying life. Taken way to soon. My deepest condolences to the entire Fraser Whanau.. Ride easy big fella. Grant MacDonald
The staff and students from NPGHS offer our condolences to Phoenix, Jaemtaami and whanau as you navigate this difficult time.
Still in shock Dan, it was only a week ago we were yarning (yet again) at the Aquatic Centre Sauna, a place where we would seem to catch up lots and solve the world's big issues. You loved that place - sweating out the drinks from the night before or simply using it to unwind and recover from work and the sport that you loved doing. Your love for your family always shone through in our talks. We have both been learning to wing foil, and typical of you, it is something you have thrown yourself into 100% despite the frustrations and obligatory swearing. I will miss your honesty, your bluntness yet enthusiasm and loyalty to your mates and family. RIP Dan. Heartfelt condolences to your whanau - a good man taken way too soon. Paul Veric PS: There will be lot of us who will miss you at The Patch on those perfect days. Seeing you pull into great waves with a big cheeky grin and always keen for a yarn between waves. It without a doubt will be less perfect on those days without you.
Dan was a top bloke and a bloody legend. Hard worker and always had a smile on his face. Poor bugger taken too early, RIP mate. Our condolences to his family.
The first time we met on site we hit it off. So many laughs, such a great sense of humour, quick and witty, straight to the point just an awesome person to hang out with. The new board purchases we made, trying to figure out how to hide them from our wives I remember when Phoenix busted you trying to smuggle that new board into the house - you had to bribe her so she wouldnāt tell mum! So funny. Will miss our surf missions down the Patch and Fitz and how you managed to fit that solid frame of yours in the barrel and make it out still blows my mind. A good partner in crime, so many times I threw you under the bus if I got home late from the surf to soften the blow from mum. Will miss the daily phone calls, you always had a positive outlook on life and a way to pick others up when we were down. The conversations of retired life in the islands and how Iād come up and visit. You were always there for me I wish I could have been there for you when you needed help that day and to have one last surf with you. Love you always my brother looking forward to spending the last moments with you when I get home. Nikhyla, Jae, Phoenix and Neo our hearts break for you, Dan was one in a million and we were lucky enough to share in a small part of his life. See you all soon, Muzz, Rachelle, Occy & Coco

You were a constant, a constant my friend and I shall miss you, rest easy mate. X So sad to miss the service, there will be some fantastic stories I have no doubt. Massive hugs to all. Dan OāNeill
